The cottage is situated in the southern corner of Ille et Vilaine at the top of the village of La Louzais, so you can enjoy the view and tranquillity of this area. It has a south facing fenced garden. The large patio is a real sun trap. There is a decking area with a covered gazebo. New shrubs have been planted and there are the mature trees around the garden which will offer some shade in summer. In the garden there is a boules court with set of boules. There are spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and the River Vilaine from the brow of the hill.

There are some interesting walks over the hill and down to the river. The footpath and cycle path follow along by the side of the river, with some rustic benches where you can rest and enjoy the view. There is also a road that runs in both directions beside the river with plenty of parking spaces. It is ideal for picnics and for fishing.

This region of southern Ille et Vilaine is fortunate to have a temperate climate so it is much warmer here than in Northern Brittany. You can watch the cruise boats sail along the river Vilaine. Around the area are lakes, rivers and woodland making it ideal for walking, cycling (adult bicycles are available), golf, boating, fishing, bird watchung and horse riding or just relaxing on the terrace. If you are lucky you may
see the red squirrels in action playing and jumping through trees

La Vilaine Vue accomodates 4 people comfortably with all the amenities expected from a holiday cottage and much more. The recently modernised accommodation comprises: kitchen/diner/lounge, 1 double and 1 twin bedrooms, shower room with WC and separate WC. The kitchen is well equipped, includes gas cooker,washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, electric kettle and toaster, crockery and cutlery etc. The Dining Room has large table and chairs, dresser and electric radiator. The Lounge has comfy sofas, coffee tables and wall lights. There are two sets of patio doors leading to the large patio.Sony Bravia flat screen TV with English and French programmes, DVD player with a selection of DVD's, English books and games are provided for your entertainment.

The nearby village of Langon is just 2kms away and has the following amenties: Post Office, village supermarket, chemist, excellent butchers, bakery with a fantastic range of cakes and pastries, cafe, bar (WiFi available) and an excellent resturant, service station pumps, garage and hairdressers. Here in the village is an art gallery and horse riding at La Buntais. Visit the little chapel and the church with its unusual tower in the village square.

While holidaying in the region of Ille et Vilaine, why not visit the following areas of interest - City of Rennes, capital of Brittany, steeped in history. The Town of Redon, with a country market every Monday. The Ancient Megaliths at the village of St Just. The Motor Museum and Race Circuit at Loheac.

The cottage has easy access to Loire Atlantique and Morbihan. Ideal for touring the Loire Valley, with its vineyards and chateaux, St Naizaire and the famous La Baule, with a beautiful beach that stretches around the bay, Nantes, Josselin and Vannes.

The cities of Nantes and Vannes are definitely worth a visit, for sightseeing and shopping. There are quaint Breton villages in the surrounding area such as La Gacilly, the home of Yves Rocher where local artisans show their skills and sell their products in the little cottages up the hill. Rochfort-en-Terre, with its cobbled streets and art galleries. Many more wonderfful places to see within easy reach.
