Vidin is a town steeped in history and is the traditionlal Bulgaria. It has shops and in 2007 a huge shopping mall was constructed in the town along with a university and the river routes along the Danube have now been opened up for tourists. The Danube runs along side the town and fishing can be found here along with some small beaches for swimming. A ferry boat runs from Vidin to Romania and also a newly constructed bridge crossing and railway for public traffic. It is literally only 10 minutes into Romania with its many intriguing places of interest. Well worth a stay in this pretty cottage and very friendly helpful people warm hospitality and a fascinating country with lots to do. I reccommend it .
