A 200 year old detached 3 bedroom cottage on the English/Welsh border situated in a small hamlet, with unbelievable sunsets and views to the Welsh mountains.

Stable doors lead into a generous kitchen with solid fuel Aga, large farmhouse table, butlers pantry and Victorian wall cupboards. The efficient cooking area has a stainless steel cooking range (5 ring gas top with 2 electric ovens and grill), dishwasher and tall larder fridge and a full range of cooking utensils and crockery etc.
Leading off the kitchen is a small utility room with washing machine and downstairs toilet/ shower room and a small anti-room which leads to the conservatory, stairs and lounge.
The lounge has a low beamed ceiling, oak floorboards, soft lighting and original fire place with log burner .It is furnished with two big sofas, tasteful old pine pieces, T.V. with Satellite free view box, D.V.D. player, Radio/cassette/C.D. player, Video player. Off the lounge is the bookshelf lined study with original old fireplace and genuine French art deco log burner.
The creaky 1950 hand made stairs takes you along the landing to the three double bedrooms and toilet/shower room.
The two cosy front bedrooms have lovely views over to the Welsh hills and the old Iron Age Fort, the large main bedroom has views into the garden through French windows that open onto a balcony. (The cane table and 2 chairs on the landing is ideal for using on the balcony to take meals)
(There is a 4th. bedroom, but it is locked and is where we keep our private belongings)
The large garden offers seclusion and privacy and has a garden table with 6 chairs, B.B.Q and washing line, the orchard, which has a varied selection of old trees, has an abundance of assorted fruit during the appropriate season.
Oswestry is a sleepy market town unspoilt by high street multiples, with many original old, unchanged pubs, restaurants and cafes and an interesting assortment of small shops with Offas Dyke,the iron age hill fort, canal and Welsh hills all part of the landscape
With a few minutes drive to access the new road network that links to the motorways south and north, Birmingham airport and Manchester airport are 1 hours drive.
Warwick and Stratford on Avon approx.2hrs.
Chester 30 mins, Liverpool 45 mins, Edinburgh and Glasgow 5 hours,
London 3 hours, Oxford 2 hours
Anglesey/ Holyhead (ferry to Ireland) just over 2 hours
North Wales (Snowdon mountain range) 2 to 3 hours depending on route.
Welsh coast 90 mins, Welsh Lakes (Bala, Vyrynwy,) 90 mins
Llangollen (home of the eisteddfod) 20 mins.
Ellesmere (Shropshire lake district) 10 mins
Ironbridge (home of the industrial revolution and Brunels’ world famous iron bridge) 30 mins
